Amuse Bouche aka Tim Shaw will be a familiar face for anyone who’s anyone on the Manchester club scene. One third of titanic party starters Doodle MCR he’s joined forces with the Manc record label Sprechen to deliver Serendipity, a blistering 5-track EP full of squelchy good stuff, noodly synth, soaring soundscapes and driving Italo arps.

The EP delivers all that whilst also weaving in vocals from the amazing Lady Lady, an outrageous rework of a Kelis classic, and some inspired sampling of Faith Evans.

Amuse Bouche keeps listeners guessing in his 5 track mini-musical odyssey with tracks spanning the BPM gamut from 90 to 130 bpm.

In true Sprechen style Serendipity is a dance floor focused workout but always retains something a bit wobbly and leftfield to keep listeners bopping and engaged. If you’re looking for some straight up tech-house bangers this EP isn’t for you.

For those that like their dance music made with love and a big bag of oumph, dive straight in.

Acapella (feat Lady Lady) leads the EP with a noodly, nu-disco cover of Kalis, Acapella. The type of track you’d expect to hear late in the night or closing a summer festival beach stage, the track’s infectious bass and swelling vocals will keep dancers moving no matter the dance floor.

The EPs title track, Serendipity, cranks up the intensity with some choppy vocal samples and brooding synth strings. A track I think is destined for those big room, head down moments, I wouldn’t be surprised if I heard in a WHP set this side of Christmas.

Night Drive on the other hand is a super slow chugger punctuated by some seriously meaty 80s synths, pads and bells. It’s the perfect tackle for late night listening bars and night time drives (who would have guessed).

Pastiche puts us firmly back into dance mode with a shuffle-inducing track with some light garage elements and liberal use of Faith Evan’s iconic vocals on Love Like This.

Rounding out the EP is Take It Easy, an arpeggiator driven synth workout and another great club weapon to get bums off seat, away from the bar and dancing under a glitterball of your choice.
