Based out of its Knutsford Studio SupaEarth has been releasing tracks for over a year. Headed up by owner and nu-disco producer Ruff Diamond, Boogie Boogie Beach (BBB) marks the labels first full length audio outing.
Its a strong first offering from SupaEarth records, and the LP draws its power and inspiration from the compilation offerings from sister labels like Masterwork Music & Midnight Riot. BBB brings in the big names like Rayko and Sould Out and combines them with a hand picked collective of producers from across the globe to create a 15 track LP that will slide seamlessly into any summer playlist.
BBB casts its disco net wide and its tracks feature everything from European Disco, Balearic Soulful House and some Latin American influences sprinkled into the mix for good measure. It has Chugging arpeggiators and lashings of synth. These are complemented by flutters of saxophones and stabs of piano.
Taking in the continuous mix (Put together expertly by Ruff Diamond) there are more than a few snatches of the familiar. There’s sliced up Whitney-esque vocals on Ross Fitz’s Shadows in the Sun. And a stripped back and reimagined version of Summertime by Will Smith Courtesy of Rob Jam Web and his track Frontin and Maxin.
Other early highlights from the compilation include Rayko’s re-edit of Joice, a thick, bass heavy, mid-tempo bumper that’ll get dancers limbered and in gear for a night of dancing. Chuggin Edits channel some blissed out brilliance with I Love You So. Its smooth vocals, sprinkling of guitar and warm bassline lets this track lead you directly to the beach. Not to forget Ruff Diamond himself, his contribution Run to Berrinas starts with lush female vocal building to peak before hitting the type of rumbling Euro-Disco that would make Donna Summer blush.
Boogie Boogie Beach is a compilation that has a track for any occasion, whether you’re relaxing on a beach or throwing a party on it. The LP drops on the 2nd of August, you can pre-order a copy here.
