Who the hell is Furious L? The Manchester-based enigma has been AWOL for several years. He’s come out of hiding to put together this mix for All My Friends and chat about what he’s been up to.

Beer gardens, barbeques or boozing round ya mates. Nowhere is safe from this infectious summery mix. Tying together disco both old and new it spans Mebla Moore to Geraldine Hunt & Crazy P to 80’s Child. All the disco all the time. All My Friends caught up with Furious L to ask him what he’s been up to and chat about the mix.

So Furious your last known location was on the beach at WorldWide Festival 2016 in the south of France. What happened to you since then?

Yeah, I went a bit off the grid didn’t I. Great festival though. In a nut-shell, I was captured by Lybian Corsairs and was bound for Tripoli to be sold in the slavers market. Thankfully due to some quick thinking on my part, I managed to overpower the crew and take command of the ship. From there I founded a small Mediterranian mercantile trading fleet and set up shop out of Sardinia trading in Italian hams and cheeses.

That was a pretty fun couple of years but the pull of Manchester was too strong to resist. I gave the business to my friend and hot tailed it back home. Pulled in to Portsmouth last week.

Wow, interesting story. Talk us through the mix then.

Basically, I just wanted to get back to basics. I’ve been playing a lot of vinyl recently and thought it’d be nice to throw down a digital mix. I put this mix together on Serato and took influence from some of the recent parties I’ve been too. Parties like the Refuge courtyard all dayers, the soundwave party with Romare and the So Flute crew as well as the latest Masterwork music compilation.

I wanted to make a mix that was perfect for sunny days at friends houses or in the park. There’s also a lot of words in the songs so the mums will love it too.

Any standout tracks you wanna share with us?

Firstly I think ‘Can’t Fake The Feeling’ by Geraldine Hunt, a guaranteed party started that has stood the test of time well and always gets people moving.

And secondly a more modern disco track. Crazy P’s ‘The Hit’ I first heard in on a Future Disco compilation but it’s a great track for both opening event or changing the pace of your set midway through a night.

A fleeting chat was all we could manage. Furious L was off before we could ask any more. Where to, who knows? If you see him though buy him a cider.

Check out Lloyd’s Afrohouse mix if you’re craving some more summery tunes.
