Having built a presence in the darker recesses of Manchester’s murky underground nightlands, the team behind Left, Right & Centre’s bass-heavy parties are set to stamp their own imprint on the city’s already rich fabric.
The club night has been operating in Manchester since 2018 and has become a staple of south Manchester club Indigo as well as making regular forays into town and throwing parties at Soup Kitchen, Joshua Brooks, & The White Hotel.
Bringing fresh, high quality, low-frequency floor-cutters with a focus on artists based in the Ten Townships, their maiden move is this four-track showcase EP, set to land at the back end of May.
‘Metropol’’ from Josh Scott stands out, a busy, loosely familiar track with a satisfying depth carved by subtle rumblings in the low end and shuffling highs at the other. Similarly ‘Drifting Off’ by Korzi is a roomy riddim, introduced with a lofi melody wrapped in off-key rimshots and menacing kicks, using tension and drive to good effect. A tightly constructed, heads down head rocker from Henzo called ‘Duck and Pancakes’ and a swampy, quick-stepper by Heritage and Delo titled ‘Babylon Gone’ round off a notable first foray for the fledgling label.
