Sprechen’s latest offering is coming from up-and-coming Manchester 6-piece See Thru Hands. The release, Connectivity, is a dance floor focused journey into guitars and synth with a slew of remixes from the likes of Skream, Jorja Chalmer’s, and Chris Massey.

The original opens the EP with some waa waa guitar and vocals reminiscent of Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem. Proper indie disco with attitude minus the glowstick heavy sludge that can sometimes bog down the genre.

Slabs of funk are overlaid with synths giving Connectivity an electric hybrid sound that’s sure to get dancefloors moving.

First up on remix duties is Skream with a rendition of the track that brings the 4/4 and stretches the track into a 7-minute dancefloor workout. Gone is the layered arrangement. Instead, Skream how opted for roving sweeps, an Italo bassline, and heavy arp. A few snatches of the original remain twisted into something built for sunrises and late afternoon disco sets.

Jorja Chalmers ELECTRICITY remix takes the track in a completely different direction to Skream’s dance floor focused version. The bpm’s dropped to a relaxed 110 and the bass guitar has been brought to the front of the mix along with some ominous synths and scattered bells.

The vocals have been chopped up and rearranged but tie the track together with a somber, dark bow.

Last but not least is Sprechen’s head honcho Chris Massey. He’s taken Connectivity and imbued it with a drive and purpose via Stabs, scattered hi’s, and sparse vocals. This is a no-nonsense, head down, fist-pumping track to round out the remixes.
