AMF reaches 100 mixes
It’s mad to think that this blog started 8 years ago. Pre-pandemic in a Manchester club landscape that looked quite similar but completely different. When I started this blog my goal was to keep myself immersed within the Manchester underground club scene, make new friends, connections, and hopefully build a platform to showcase Manchester’s up and coming talent as well as talk about the scene in the city more generally.
Since the start of the blog in March 2018 we’re released 100 mixes, 14 podcasts and conversations with unique voices in the Manchester scene, along with many articles and reviews.
Club culture is struggling at the moment now more than ever. Especially for smaller venues and promoters and it feels like a more D.I.Y ethos is needed from communities to keep the party alive. But where there is struggle there is innovation and the continued rise of radio stations, day parties in pubs, and little blogs like this can hopefully go some way in stemming the tide of dead new build monstrosities and help share a bit of what makes Manchester and dance music special.
